Mike Bullert – President
Mike was born and raised in Redding, CA. After High School, he attended Willamette University and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. In college, he studied animal physiology and conducted research about the effects of pesticides on amphibians. All this in preparation to become a Wildlife Biologist, or so he thought. While searching for employment, he took a part time position as a pest control technician for a national pest control company.
Mike found that he was very passionate about pest control and advanced his way through the company. In nine years, he served many roles, including Branch Manager in four different cities in California. In 2007, he purchased Big Time Pest Control, which he now operates with his wife Bekki. He holds an Operator’s license in Branches I, II and III. He has been a PCOC Director since 2002. He has served as District Chair of the Shasta and Big Valley Districts. He has been the committee chair of the General Pest Committee and the GreenPro Task Force.
Mike currently lives in Red Bluff with his wife Bekki, of 21 years, and his four children: Kaylin, Emily, Megan, and Zach. In his spare time, he loves to camp and fish with family and friends.
Baron McDonald – President-Elect
Baron has worked for Clark Pest Control for 40 years, he started as a route technician and then was later promoted to a supervisor before becoming the branch manager of the Sonora Branch in 1991. Baron is licensed in Branch 1 and 2, and has a QAL with 10 categories.
After college Baron went to work for Rose Exterminator Co. before being hired by Ron Fair of Clark Pest Control. Baron has been involved with Pest Control Operators of California for 30 years, serving at every officer position, and has chaired many committees. Baron says, “I feel a desire and a responsibility to give back to my livelihood and the industry that has served me and my family so well. It’s been a joy to serve.”
Baron’s passions include working with Agape Villages-an organization that provides homes for foster children, and he also loves his family and five grandchildren. Other things Baron enjoys are golfing, working in his shop and on his 1930 Hot Rod, welding, fabricating and restoring old gas pumps, and also the outdoors, kayaking, fishing and camping.
Baron has been married to Rhonda for 42 years and they have two children, of whom he is very proud. His son Matt graduated from San Jose State with a master’s degree and he is currently a high school teacher in Manteca. Matt is married to Morgan, who is a nurse, and they have three children. Baron’s daughter Kaeli Oberlin is married to Paul, and they have two sons. Kaeli graduated from college and is a dental hygienist. Her husband Paul is a producer/director for the advertising agency Deutsch Inc.
Baron’s final comments are, “I owe so much to Charlie, Joe and Terry Clark for the opportunity to serve this industry. Their support has been tremendous and I couldn’t have done it without them.”
Jim Steed- Treasurer – Photo to follow
Jim Steed joined the industry in February of 1993 as a technician in the Turf and Ornamental department of Neighborly Pest Management, Inc. in Roseville CA. He started the job while pursuing a degree in English and Philosophy. It wasn’t long before Jim found new responsibilities and joined the management team at Neighborly in 1996. In 2006 Jim became a minority owner and in April of 2013 Jim assumed full ownership of the company.
Jim has served in the Big Valley District for over 15 years as a Director and 3 Years as the Chair of the District. He has served on the Legislative Committee for the last 10 years and testified before Senate and Assembly Committees on behalf of PCOC 6 times. He has served as a PAPCO Trustee for three years and is also the Chair of that Committee. Jim helped to create the Public Relations Committee and chaired that committee for its first two years as they reworked PCOC’s web site.
Jim has served on a IPM Certification Review committee for the Structural Pest Control Board and Currently Serves on the Boards CE IPM Committee that is working on new CE standards for the Board.
Jim holds a Branch II Operators License, Branch III Field Reps License and a QAL License with categories ABCF.
Mike McKenzie – Second Vice President
Mike McKenzie is a second generation PCO who has worked in the industry for 20 years. He began his career with Great Western Termite and Pest Control as a termite technician and progressed into a Service / Sales Manager. In 2003, Mike transitioned to Orkin Pest Control where he began working as a Sales Inspector. At Orkin, Mike progressed through several leadership positions and is currently an Assistant Region Manager with responsibilities throughout California.
Mike has served many different roles within PCOC over the past 10 years. He is a 3x District Chair, 8x Director (San Gabriel Valley), 6x Committee Chair (Termite / Membership), and is currently serving on the Scholarship Committee.
Mike has been married for 15 years to his wife Heather. They have two daughters, Mikayla (9) and Lorelai (5), and currently reside in Glendora, Ca.
Tom Graston – Third Vice President
Tom Graston was born and raised in Montreal Quebec and later moved to London, Ontario. In 1988, he moved to California and lived in the Bay Area. In 1998, Tom began his career in the pest control industry working for a national company as a commercial sales person, then promoted to sales manager and soon thereafter to a branch manager. Tom made a career move to Clark Pest Control where he works as the branch manager in the Vacaville office.
Tom maintains both a Branch 2 and 3 Field Representative License. He has been involved with PCOC serving the Big Valley District as Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer. As a director for over 11 years, he has also chaired both Media and Membership Committees. In addition to joining the Executive Committee, he will also serve as the chair for the new PCOC Building Committee.
In 2011, tragedy struck Tom’s family when his 19 year old nephew, Matt George, was killed by a drunk driver. Tom volunteers and advocates for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Tom shares his tragic story at all of the local high schools in addition to the Victim Impact Panel for DUI offenders in hopes to make a change and save lives.
Tom is married to his wife, Sherrie, and lives in Folsom where they raised their two sons, Dalton and Dylan. Tom also has a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoys kayaking.
After growing up in a 3rd generation termite control family, Dean decided to try his hand in pest control. After graduating from High School in 1985, he moved from his home town of Yucaipa California to Orange County California to start working for Newport Exterminating. He began running a route, moved into sales and now manages their Pest Control Division. Dean holds a Branch 2 Operators, Branch 3 Field Rep and a Qualified Applicator License in categories A and B.
He lives in Mission Viejo California with his beautiful wife Andrea and daughter Mia. He also enjoys playing golf.
John Woodward – Affiliate Rep
John Woodward graduated from Arizona State University in 1986 with a degree in Ag-Business. He began his career with Target Specialty Products in 1990 as a sales rep. During that time John learned the pest and weed business eventually gaining his Pest Control Advisers license. He ultimately ascended to Branch manager of Target’s Phoenix location. In 2000 he went to work for Whitmire Micro-Gen representing the 11 western states. He was named Regional Manager for the west in 2005. He stayed with Whitmire through the BASF acquisition becoming the northern California sales representative for Termidor and the Whitmire portfolio. In 2013 he joined Geotech Supply to start and expand its sales operations. In addition to his time as a manufacturer rep and distributor rep, John also spent several years in the field with Contractors Termite and Burns Pest Elimination. He lives in Auburn, CA with his wife and 3 kids. He enjoys hiking, playing guitar, and loves baseball.

Prior to becoming Executive Vice President, Chris most recently was Chief Deputy Director of the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR). He was appointed as Chief Deputy Director of the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) in 2008 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and was re-appointed in 2012 by Governor Jerry Brown. Prior to holding that position, he served as DPR’s Director of Legislation and Regulations, appointed by Governor Gray Davis in 2003.
Before joining DPR, Chris was Executive Director for the Manufacturer’s Council of the Central Valley. He also spent time in the Legislature as Chief of Staff for Assembly Member Sal Cannella, and also worked for Assembly Member Jim Costa. He is a native New Yorker, and came to California in 1983 while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the California State University at Stanislaus. Chris is married to his wife Maria and has two grown children, Samantha and Kelsey. He enjoys traveling and and actively participating in several sports, including softball and golf.
Jenai Zeringue – Manager, Financial Services
Jenai came to PCOC in April of 2007 having worked at Marsh for two years prior to that. Her extensive Administrative experience brings much needed support to PCOC. She was born and raised in Sacramento and is continuing her education at Sacramento City College.
Prior to joining PCOC staff as the Administrative Assistant, Sarah was busy raising her two young boys, Wyatt and Levi. She has very easily become part of the team here at PCOC. Sarah grew up in the Sacramento area and graduated from a local high school. She then continued her education at American River College. She is a very positive person who enjoys helping others. Among the many duties that she takes care of at PCOC, Sarah is now managing the PCOC events including our annual EXPOs. She will be getting married in the Spring of 2017 to her long time friend, Dan.
